Part 5: Our Last Night at the Hotel 🌙

After attending the orientation, we went back to the hotel and fell asleep. The next morning was

"September 19", and it was our "second-last day at the hotel". There was one important thing we had to do that day: find a hostel for ourselves.

We woke up, freshened up, and headed outside. We didn't even have breakfast because we were more focused on finding accommodation. We visited a few girls' hostels, and luckily, one of our colleagues had a cousin in Istanbul who helped us look for a suitable place.

Our university was located a little distance away from Mustafa Kemal Paşa Metro Station, but since we only had three enrolled subjects and classes were held just three days a week, we decided that staying somewhere in

Beyazıt would be more convenient for us.

And that's how we found our girls' hostel in Beyazıt.

It was my first-ever experience of living in a hostel. I had never lived in one before, so I didn't really know what to expect.

Looking back, hostel life taught me so many things not just about living independently, but also about people and relationships.

One of the biggest lessons was a painful one: Sometimes, the person you consider your closest companion through your happiness and sadness can turn out to be the person who hurts you the most. I learned that not everyone deserves the trust we give them.

But that was a lesson for another day. For now, we had finally found our place.

After all the running around and searching, we were completely exhausted and starving.

We decided to return to the hotel, which was around an hour to an hour and a half away from Beyazıt. Once we reached the hotel, we took a shower and then went outside again to find something to eat.

This time, we tried something different: Turkish kebab with rice and a big green chilli.

The chilli had been seasoned with spices and was surprisingly delicious! It wasn't as spicy as the green chillies we usually eat in Pakistan, and its taste was quite different, but I really enjoyed it.

After dinner, we returned to the hotel. And then it hit us this was our last night at the hotel.

So, naturally, we couldn't let the night pass like an ordinary night.

We decided to have one last movie night together. 🎬

This time, we chose a horror movie. And honestly, it was already scary enough without our friends making things worse!

While we were watching the movie, our friends decided to scare us for fun. At one point, they covered the mirror with a piece of cloth and then pointed towards the window, making us think there was something there.

We were terrified for a moment! 😂 But at the same time, we couldn't stop laughing. Those little moments of fear, laughter, and friendship made the night even more memorable.

Of course, no movie night is complete without snacks.

We had also bought some Turkish snacks, including Lays, small cakes, and biscuits.

Even the Lays tasted quite different from the ones we were used to in Pakistan.

Some of the snacks were surprisingly good, while others were definitely not our taste at all! 😅

After finishing the movie, eating our snacks, laughing at our friends' silly tricks, and enjoying our final night in the hotel, we finally went to sleep.

The next morning was going to be different.

A new place. A new routine. A new experience."

We were leaving the hotel and starting the next chapter of our life in Istanbul the chapter of hostel life, independence, and everything that came with it 🌙✨
